If you are staying with us for respite, convalescence, trial or vacation stay the suites will be furnished. If you are coming to stay with us permanently you bring your own furniture. This helps to make it home for you and have your treasured and loved items with you. When considering what to bring with you, look at furniture that can provide you with a as a multi-purpose. We will provide you with a floor plan with measurements, that help you place your belongings. This makes the move easier and more organized.
Yes of course. We will work with external care providers to ensure that their services are part of your care plan and we will assist you with the rest. They must abide by our policies & procedures and sign in and out when they come to see you.
Yes. We encourage you to personalize your suite with your own decorations
No. You will be required to sign a Tenancy Agreement, which outlines the accommodation and service package they have selected. The agreement is on a month-to-month basis, which allows maximum flexibility for changing options.
Yes, in the event of a refund we credit you back the deposit amount less a $100 service fee.
The Deposit works to both hold the suite for you prior to your move in date. As well as your last months rent once you have taken occupancy of the suite. Interest will be paid on the rent deposit pursuant to Ontario residential tenancies legislation.
Yes. Managing rate increases against often-increasing operating expenses is a difficult balancing act, which we undergo every year. We will do our best to keep increases to a minimum while maintaining our high standard of services. The percentage is based on the Landlord & Tenant Act.
Yes. Your suite is your home—we encourage you to make it comfortable and add your own personal touches. When you move in you will find your suite painted and equipped with window coverings in neutral tones. You may, at your own cost and within reason, paint walls, apply wallpaper, install draperies, and hang pictures to personalize the suite as you like. Our maintenance staff will be happy to assist you in hanging heavy objects like TVs and mirrors.
Maintenance personnel are available for odd repairs and jobs of this nature. There is no cost for routine suite maintenance or repairs.
No. For the health and comfort of residents and staff, Orchard View by the Mississippi is a smoke-free building.
Suites are equipped with kitchenette areas where you can keep a toaster, microwave, coffee maker, etc., to make light meals and snacks.
Yes. Based on availability, we will have guest suites available on a first-come first-served basis, to allow residents to occasionally have guests stay overnight in their suites. Or your guests may wish to take advantage of the local Bed N Breakfasts in the area. Where to Stay in Mississippi Mills.
Your guests are welcome to dine with you in the dining room. Advanced reservations are required and the charges can be added to your monthly account or your guests may pay for their meal as they leave.
Yes. Visitors and friends are welcome to participate in the activity programs. We believe in the saying “the more, the merrier,” and we encourage the full use of the building’s amenities. Some activities outside the residence may require pre-booking and payment in advance, such as for theatrical or musical events. Kindly note that space on trips and activities are offered to residents first.
Yes. We offer complimentary in-suite meal service should you become ill, available through the nursing department. If, for convenience sake, you wish to enjoy meals in your suite, a nominal fee will apply.
Yes. We can accommodate most therapeutic diets, including diabetic, low-sodium, and renal. As a general rule, our chefs are careful to ensure all meal selections are nutritionally balanced and residents can choose daily from a varied and health conscious menu. Please refer to our example of our weekly menu.
Orchard View by the Mississippi is designed to offer a continuum of care with service options to explore if your health needs changes. We consider your preferences and needs on a 24 hour basis and work with you to develop your care plan with your habits/routines in mind. We coordinate with community resources and our trained professionals, to ensure that all your needs are met. We offer an in-house physician but you may retain your own physician if you wish, the choice is yours.

Yes. Small animals are permitted. Residents are responsible for the care of their pets, which must have updated vaccinations and annual physical exams. Cats must remain in individual suites; dogs must be leashed in common areas and taken off the property to relieve themselves. Residents are responsible for placing waste in the garbage bins in park areas. Residents are responsible for the full cost of any damage or personal injury that the pet may cause.
Yes, doors are secured between 8pm & 8am. Guests can obtain entrance by ringing the doorbell, located at the front entrance. All entrances and exits are monitored with cameras.
Parking for one vehicle is included at the Orchard View by the Mississippi. Additional parking is available at a fee.
Yes. We have a good sized lot with designated visitors’ parking. Please remind guests to sign the registry at the Reception upon arrival.
No. Our comfortable vehicle offers complimentary transportation to scheduled outings and events.
