Thanks for the care you and the team provided Roberta over the past 4 years. Even on the gloomiest days, whether rain or snow, I was always greeted by the friendly person at the the front desk sitting in front of the “Las Vegas style” foyer. Roberta was always happy and felt her care was second to none which, of course, it was. Our Thursday outings were the highlight of my week and she always looked forward to getting back to her “home” at 219 Paterson st. We so enjoyed the festive events that were staged and of course everyone was always dressed for the occasion. All the best to you and the amazing staff at Orchard View and continued success!

I was in tech sales for many years and was miserable. One day I came across the Orchard View by the Mississippi’s PSW training program.  They supported me throughout the training and hired me immediately upon graduation. I am happy to work for a company where I see my work making a difference. Orchard View by the Mississippi allowed me to take control of my development and follow my own career path.

I wanted a career rather than a job so I came to Orchard View by the Mississippi. I work with a fantastic team in a family environment and together we make a difference in lives of our residents. I look forward to going to work everyday.

Everyone here is committed to a common goal and we all work together and help one another achieve it.  Our team is one big happy family and it makes for a great work atmosphere. We are all dedicated to making Orchard View by the Mississippi a place where our residents blossom.

The vision and values of the company plus the chance to make a difference in people’s health and well being is what inspired me to work at Orchard View by the Mississippi. This is a home full of genuine, caring and dedicated team members who truly love what they do.

I hope you know that we cannot thank you enough.  Your Updates reflect the reality of the situation — honestly presenting the serious risk everyone at Orchard View is facing, and at the same time communicating the strength and positivity of everyone working together.  By pro-actively sending us these messages, you’re telling us that our fears are understood, and our best hopes are well-founded 🙂

We truly know that everyone at Orchard View is giving their best — everyone in administration, housekeeping, dining, reception, healthcare, activities, maintenance — you are an awesome force.  Thank you for the commitment you’re showing, and for the personal sacrifices you are making.  Thank you to those who are living in the residence, in order to protect your families, our family, and one another.

We haven’t been surprised at all to see how the Orchard View staff have responded to this crisis.  You are continuously taking things in stride, making decisions, caring, and advocating.  We are grateful for who you are and what you do.

Many retirement homes aim to ‘do their best’ in providing service and care to their residents. What sets Orchard View apart, is that their ‘best’ is excellent!   The nursing and personal care, recreation, dietary, environmental and administration staff are friendly, knowledgeable and nimble.  Over the past three years, our family’s experience is that the Orchard View staff live their mission – to treat residents with respect and dignity in an environment that optimizes well-being.  When either of our parents had a changing need or a new worry, Orchard View staff consistently rose to the challenge. They worked with our family creating manageable solutions which were agreeable to Mom and Dad. In my opinion, after 40 years of working in the health and wellness sector, Orchard View by the Mississippi ranks very high!

It’s a big step to move out of my beloved home. I didn’t know how I would give up, enjoying sitting on the porch and being greeted by every dog and their owners each day. Once I was here, Orchard View became our new home. I am so fortunate to be here. Meals are all prepared for me, people come and check up on me, my sheets and floors are being done while I sit and talk. The staff are amazing and I look forward seeing them each day.

I can’t imagine how difficult life would have been in managing Gerry’s needs at home or in the hospital. I was able to be with him 24/7 and kiss him goodnight every night. They took such good care of him and me, during a very difficult time. It was the best thing we ever did!!

Orchard View by the Mississippi has been a wonderful place for Mom to live for the past 3 years.  Each day is filled with fun and interactive activities for her to take part in if she wants to.  The staff is always friendly and very accommodating to Mom and our family..  Orchard View is a place we would retire to.

I came to Orchard View by the Mississippi for a winter stay to avoid another winter on my own. It only took me a few days to decide this is the place for me. When I lived on my own up at the lake, my girls traded off going away to make sure someone was around to ensure I was safe. Now my girls go on vacations with no worries as they know I am safe, happy, looked after and if something does happen. There is someone here to help and give them a call. It was a decision that made us all happy.

Thank you to your whole management team for the time & care you took meeting Sam yesterday. Our family recognized the kindness and caring that your entire team displayed & we so appreciate the attitude of all of your people who we interacted with. They were lovely & so supportive of him. Sam was happier & more engaged than we’ve seen him in some time, both during & after our visit to Orchard View. We wanted to make sure that you know how your & everyone else’s kindness & efforts on his behalf were so much appreciated.

My Mom didn’t choose to come to Orchard View, but in 2 months she has made it her home. The staff on the Memory Living floor are wonderful and they respect my Mom’s need to be recognized as an intelligent and able woman. They have helped her find a sense of purpose by encouraging her to help others. She loves it there and is happier than she has been in a long time. And she loves the food!

Dad came home to Almonte and enjoyed his last year with his friends and family around him in a very special place, Orchard View. The staff here don’t just perform their jobs, they enjoy what they do and that feeling is passed on to the residents. We look forward to moving into down the road. If any of our relatives are thinking of a retirement home, you won’t find a better example of retirement living than here at Orchard View by the Mississippi

I am very grateful for all the kindness extended to my family as we transition  thru my mother’s death.  So many people have taken the time to make my dad feel supported in his new space.  Big and small gestures from the team make it clear that dad is well cared for.

We are so grateful for the care of my Mom at OV over the past 2 ½ years . It is more than comforting to know she was with special people in her final & difficult days. It is such a comfort that she was able to stay in “her home” for her passing. The staff was amazing. She would always say she felt like a princess in a beautiful castle.

After 25 years of living in our own home Diane and I were just a touch apprehensive about moving to Orchardview by the Mississippi. We loved the new townhouses and were looking forward to making a change but we knew we would miss our friends and neighbours.
After moving in, we discovered that making new friends here was easy. The people around us were friendly and welcoming. The staff went out of their way to make us feel at home. Very quickly we knew that we had made the right move. Our new home is comfortable and the view out our window is spectacular. Every day we feel like we are on vacation – a vacation that does not have to end. We are glad to be a part of this wonderful community!

I was hesitant to move from a different home. Then I walked into Orchard View and saw people I knew, and they made me comfortable. I now live closer to one of my daughters which I am grateful for. She comes and joins me for Happy Hour, knitting, bus trips and anything else I get involved with. The activity calendar is full, and keeps me busy doing the things I love. The staff are wonderful, friendly and make my day. I love the surroundings inside and out, they are so beautiful.  Put it all together and it’s a great place to call Home.

This is home. I wasn’t sure at first, but now I know what I was missing! I’m happy, healthy and always have fun things to do. I have friends that come and get me to join the fun, while my husband relaxed and enjoys his time. I don’t have to cook or clean. I love the girls that look after us, they are wonderful. OVM is a great place to live.

Thank you to the staff and residents at Orchard View for once again allowing us to host the Minds in Motion Program I’ts always a pleasure to visit and work in such a welcoming, friendly venue. I want to Thank everyone for supporting the program and I look forward to having another opportunity perhaps in the fall.

The opportunity to view the town home was enormously helpful to visualize ourselves in our new home, and to understand how to downsize over the next months. We enjoyed meeting our new neighbours and it was a particularly a treat to discover that our swimming buddy, Erica and her husband Mike will be our neighbours!!

I had a blast at Vendemmia on Sunday! The atmosphere and hospitality were outstanding!
